“What is 360?” – video

Well, this video is rather short and perhaps it doesn’t explain exactly what a 360 virtual tour are, but it is what it is. Please enjoy!

Rock’n'Roll England

Country #9 is on the move. Loads of new clients are becoming visible with the help of brand new 360 Virtual Tours in the UK. Michael Skillman is currently active “up north” and the planned 2-weeks became a bit longer. Who knows when he will return to sunny Spain?

Click here to view some of the tours that has been produced.

101010

Right after midnight on the 9th of October 2010 the happy couple from Norway was lawfully husband and wife.

After a lovely ceremony held at Dömle Herrgård’s private church at midnight I was prepared for the portrait photos in the dark. It was a bit tricky to find the right setting but I feel that the result was ok.

Bulls Eye

Being a 360 Factory photographer “forces” you to visit many places and this time, Mike & Henke, made a 360 Virtual Tour of a gun club in Stockholm, Sweden. The Target received a 360 Tour of their facilities.

Of course, we did not only shoot with our camera… we tried Magnum .357 and 44 as well as 9mm Glock. Bulls Eye? You bet! What do you think… after 80 rounds you must hit bulls eye at least once. :-)

What a great ending photo

On the last day of the photo training (held in Sweden) we were planning to shoot amazing sunset photos. It was a cloudy evening and we ended up doing some experimental photography instead. Two of the students, Björn and Margaretha, working as a team, took this picture. Great image, huh?

We had loads of fun and the students learned a great deal about the basics.

Love is in the air (again)

Way, way out in the wilderness, up north in Sweden, another union was made. Love radiated so brightly that even the toughest ones got wet eyes.

Love between two souls expressed in our physical world displays the power of the universe. That Light is the best healer there is. It is all-giving and never-ending.

Scandinavian Caravan Show 2010

For the 5th year in a row we (Mike and Andreas) worked at the Scandinavian Caravan Show 2010 in Jönköping, Sweden.

Swedens #1 – KABE – chose (again) to have their caravans and motor homes displayed with 360′s. A total of 52 different models where photographed and a bunch of 360 Virtual Tours produced.

Check out one of the 360 Virtual tours here: http://360visning.se/kabe/2011/Royal-Hacienda-1000-KS/

We are expanding our menu

We are happy to be able to provide help within web marketing – design, production, set up, development – and print marketing (flyers, adds, brochures, etc.).

Even if we are expanding our service range we are still keeping it simple (no fancy offices) to suit our “free spirit lifestyle”. With a back-pack containing camera equipment and laptop we will be as flexible (geographically) as ever and we will continue to do our best in order to provide a high quality, high standard work and design when it comes to the products on our menu.

Our website is now also reflecting these add-ons. If you are located in New Zealand or Australia, don’t hesitate to get in contact with us… it would be nice to visit “down under”. Never been there! :-)

Photoshop Radical Makeover

This Photoshop makeover is done by the Brazilian artist/graphic designer/visual effects artist Geninho. Visit his website on http://www.geninho.com

Working outside the box…

Due to more skills than “only” taking photos, Dömle Mansion in Sweden is now receiving marketing help. Are we working outside of our box? Not really, only outside our main stream business… which is stills and 360 photos. 360 Factory will produce/install all sorts of marketing tools for Dömle. For example; presentation videos, adds, folders, newsletters, flyers and brochures. We will also help out with good ideas and solutions when it comes how to sell and market the products that Dömle offer.

If you are experienced in Swedish (??) then please have a look at www.domle.se. The website will be translated into English at a later point.

On the road as a freelance photographer

Working as a freelance photographer has given me the opportunity to travel. I would like to give you a peak from one year (2007-2008) on the road. Note! If the images below are clickable there are more images (stills and/or 360′s) for you to check out. Enjoy the ride! I did!!! ;-)

JUNE 2007. My first trip to the Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Here together with a dear friend, Anders, in front of the waterfall Cascades d'Ouzoud. An amazing place that I have visited many times since then. I've got a client there. Click on the image to view a 360 Virtual Tour of Cascades.

JUNE 2007. After Morocco I went (back) to Costa del Sol, Spain where over 4.000 Harley Davidson were gathered. Click on the image to view some 60 Harley's.

JULY 2007. On a rock in the middle of the Blue lagoon, Turkey. I was doing some photos of luxury villas in Kalkan and made a day trip to the Blue lagoon. Fantastic place (both of them). It seems that I am going back to Kalkan later this year. If I do, I will post something about it. Click on the image for more stuff on Turkey.

JULY 2007. Made some photos for my sister and her boyfriend's family business in Sweden. You may have guessed it... they are running a saw mill.

AUGUST 2007. Time for my second trip to the French Alps doing photos of Ski chalets. There are always time to make friends and attend some of the local traditions, such as this one at Lake Montriond, Portes du Soleil. Click on the image for a 360 Virtual Tour of Morzine, summer time.

SEPTEMBER 2007. Back in Spain. I had some weeks off and made a quick visit to my old client and favorite restaurant in Puerto Banus, Spain - Restaurante Pravda. I have made many photos for these guys... and in return had plenty of Sushi and Sake. ;-)

SEPTEMBER 2007. Time for a new trip to Morzine, France. Best (and cheapest) way to fly from Malaga is with EasyJet to Geneva. And from there taken by car to the alps. I spent half a day in Geneva looking around.... took many nice photos. Beautiful city. But, nevertheless, it's a city, with high tempo and stress... I prefer the nature!

SEPTEMBER 2007.Time for some adventure. In between doing photos of Ski chalets I managed to get into a hang glider.... looking down from this altitude hanging in some wires sitting in a sort of chair makes your stomach go 'oh, oh'.

OCTOBER 2007. Costa del Sol, Spain. You may have guessed it? Spain was my base in 2007. This picture is from the Sierra Nevada, somewhere north of Marbella.

NOVEMBER 2007. Made a 36 hrs trip to the High Atlas Mountains, Morocco. I was making photos and a website for hotel Bin el Ouidane and went for a trip with some locals. We had a really good time discovering the unbelievable beautiful mountains of Morocco. I really love the mountains in Morocco and have spent at least 12 months there since 2007. Click on the image above to view a YouTube video from this trip.

DECEMBER 2007. I stayed in the Atlas Mountains for 2 months and have thousands of nice images, but I want to show this one when my Scottish friend, Fraser, was interviewed by Moroccan national TV. They talked about tourism and I they showed some of my pics on the 9 o'clock news. Wow, my pics has been on Moroccan national TV news... who cares? ;-)

JANUARY 2008. Picture is of a Norwegian king. Behind it you can see Holmenkollen, where they perform ski jumps. I had some clients in Oslo at the same time attending my NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming - class. I have loads of friends in Oslo because I used to live there. Tusen takk og ha de bra.

JANUARY 2008. Skiing holiday in Morzine, French Alps. My first holiday in 2 years!!! How about that?

FEBRUARY 2008. Actually I moved my base from southern Spain to the Atlas Mountains in late October 2007. So in February I was back home. Life in the Atlas, near a fresh water mountain lake, is different from living in Oslo, Marbella, Gothenburg or Paris. I can promise you that. In the picture you can see Fraser on his way to or from the boat. Click on the image to view a YouTube video with pictures from this area. Enjoy!

MARCH 2008. Another visit to Cascades d'Ouzoud.... only 45 mins drive from the lake. Me and Fraser went here for a week where we produced a website for Riad Ouzoud. Click on the image to check out the site.

MARCH 2008. After we were done with the Website for Riad Ouzoud Fraser needed to get up to Tanger and I was on my way to Hurghada, Egypt. I had to get up to Norway for my NLP class and then off to Egypt for a new photo job, so we decided to travel together up to Tanger. But first a couple of days in Fez....

MARCH 2008. This picture taken inside cave Hercules in Tanger. We stayed in La Tangerina and made them a website. If you ever go to Tanger, this is were you MUST stay. Click on the photo to view more photos of La Tangerina. After some days here I took the ferry over to Spain and headed up to Norway... then off to Egypt.

APRIL 2008. I stayed in Egypt for 5 weeks. Most of the time I was in Hurghada, but I also made a very nice trip to Luxor with some local people. Luxor was a GREAT experience where I got to know the poor (normal) down-to-earth people and was able to experience things that tourists normally never encounter. I was also doing some tourist stuff like visiting tombs, sailing on the Nile and riding hot air balloon. Click on the image for pictures from the balloon ride.

MAY 2008. I had lots of spare time in Hurghada and did some twenty dives. I also upgraded my license and are now a Advanced Open Water diver. Click on the image to view a YouTube video from my wreck dive.

JUNE 2008. Bye, bye Egypt. Hello Norway. It was getting warm in Egypt (and Morocco) and the summer was entering in Scandinavia. I finished off my NLP course in Oslo and decided to move my base up north. Sweden or Norway. Same, same.

JUNE 2008. A good old Swedish mansion located in the country side became my new base (home). But I did not stay long... more work was coming up!

Well, that’s one year of my life. I love to get around and explore and learn from “school of life”. I have some education (university) within the “brain washing system”, also called school, but I believe I have managed to re-program myself since then. I study loads of history (religious, political, economical and social) and I have found many discrepancies when comparing the “official” story (lies?) presented in the media or school books. If you don’t look, you will never know.

Life is an illusion and for some the illusion is reality.

Love is in the air

Being a wedding photographer places you on first row when it comes to witness the (perhaps) peak moment of the marriage… namely the minutes/hours right after the ceremony! I hope, with all my heart, that this moment is everlasting and that the married couple will enjoy the same kind of “ecstasy” for the rest of their life… but usually daily life will interrupt. I am not trying to be negative here, only realistic. Perhaps the “ecstasy” that one is experiencing during and right after the ceremony is unrealistic? Well, what do I know? I am just the photographer. My blessings to the married couple and I wish them the best of luck on their married journey. Hurray, hurray, hurray! Divine oneness.

What is Love? That is a tricky question to answer, right? Some would say that love is something that is expressed in the bed. Some would say that love is a strong and positive feeling towards another human, animal (creature) and/or thing. Some would say that love is the action taken in good intent (such as helping your neighbor). I would guess from a human perspective that “love your neighbor” (the Golden Rule) is most important in creating a peaceful world. That doesn’t mean that you will allow your neighbor to do wrong. You MUST wisely judge all behavior and actions, and NOT judge the person.

How to make a photo like this

The photo below is actually quite easy to create. You need a camera and a tripod (actually all you need is to keep the camera totally still/fixed).

You will need to find the setting of the white balance and change it to “incandescent”. Some cameras use a little symbol of a light bulb.

Ok, now, if you really want to make the best out of it you must also change the ISO setting to 50 instead of “auto”. (You can skip this step and still get away with a good shot.)

Aim and shoot. You will notice that the exposure time will be around 1-8 seconds.

The below photo was taken with a low ISO, 15 seconds exposure time and the white balance on incandescent. What camera was used? The good old trustworthy Nikon D200.

Knowledge leads the way

Knowledge is liberating. Knowledge will set you free from “wandering in the dark”. Anyone can grab a camera and call themselves a photographer. If you really want to differentiate yourself from the “masses” you need more knowledge than the others. It takes HARD work to reach a point where the road take you to the next level.

It doesn’t matter if you want to master the game of tennis, learn about the true history of religion or become a better person – you need knowledge. Knowledge will arrive “automatically” if you practice Desire/Devotion/Discipline.

In our material world many people are programmed by media/society to desire things of the physical. A photographer must also focus on the physical world, but he/she will eventually (depending on level of knowledge) start to “see” the invisible. When that happens he/she will reach a new level and the pictures will suddenly speak a new language. That language is the language of the soul.

“A picture paints a thousand words”. Well, it may be true, but the interpretation is done by the person to whom the picture speaks, and that person will see and “hear” according to his/her level of Knowledge.

Are 360factory producing any tours?

During all these years of producing 360 Virtual Tours we haven’t wanted to continuously publish the tours that are assembled to our website or blog. Therefore all work that’s done are “hidden”, so to speak. Ok, lets answer the question in the caption; Yes.

Here is what has been produced so far this month of May 2010:

Light

Light is absolutely fascinating. Incandescent visual light is reflected from objects that are to be photographed. It is what makes a picture come alive. Please study the picture below:

Without Light you wouldn’t be able to see anything. Look at the top left bird. Is it yellow? No, not at all. It is all other colors, BUT yellow. Yellow is the color that it is reflecting.

What is Light? Is it energy? A waveform? Can you create it? Destroy it? I believe Light cannot be seen, it can only be known. Light is still. The sense of sight cannot respond to stillness. That which the eyes “feel” and believe to be Light is but wave motion simulating the idea of Light. ALL THAT IS is made up of Light (we may call it any and a lot of names). Just a tiny frequency is registered by our eyes, the rest is invisible. But, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. Take electricity, for example. You can’t see it because of it’s frequency, but you can certainly feel it. Or what about wireless radio transmissions? You can’t see them, but they are still there, right?

I love reading the stuff (Light) that Walter Russell wrote about in 1926. I believe a lot of wisdom is hidden in his books.

Premiere 360 Tour from M&M (360 Espana)

After a long wait for 360 gear and photo training the first 360 Virtual Tour was assembled. Not bad for a new beginner. Their teacher must have done an excellent job teaching them how to maneuver the camera.

Finding the right perspective!

It is all about finding the right perspective. When trying to find the right angle to make the “perfect” picture or finding an angle/approach when solving any type of problem, you need to put yourself in the right position. When it comes to photography you sometimes have to climb a mountain to be able to get to the right position. It can be a little scary and sometimes dangerous.

When it comes to Life you sometimes also need to climb mountains. You need to reach a “higher position” of understanding/knowledge/insight to be able to see things more clearly. It can be a little scary stretching yourself towards new and unfamiliar grounds.

In my opinion it is worth it. To me, it is an important part of life (and photography) and it makes things a whole lot more interesting. I love reaching new perspectives and new insights. Photography is a travel in the physical world, where as Knowledge is more of an inner journey where one can really change ones perception. All this simply by increasing your knowledge, understanding and awareness about the world we live in.

When I first road on a camel I was taken by how calm they were. On the picture below I was about to make a 360 in the Sahara desert when I spotted a bunch of camels. They were coming my way and did not really care much about me (as you can see on the photo).

We are proud to deliver this “photo album” of a private villa in Africa. This place is not for rent or for sale. Enjoy the pictures.

Fancy a 360 Virtual Tour of Sahara?

Our client in Morocco wanted still images and a 360 Virtual Tour of Sahara. So, we made a 3-day trip. (Some times being a photographer can be pretty cooooool!! ). After leaving our “Base Camp” – Lake Bin el Ouidane (located some 3 hrs from Marrakesh) – arriving nearly 11 hours later we checked in at one of the many hotels located next to the Sahara dunes.

The journey was an adventure in itself. We drove over the Atlas Mountains experiencing incredible scenery, mountain lakes, local people, etc. We took some 300 photos from the drive and twice as many pictures from Sahara.

We will most certainly try to get back for another (different) trip where we want to spend some days with the nomads.

Click here to view the Tour. http://www.360factory.com/ma/sahara/

360 Espana is sailing once more

360° Espana is getting a new wind. Magnus and Mike are picking up the baton from the early “360-days” in Costa del Sol. The market is now rising and several clients are in the pipe-line. 360° Factory is providing know-how and production.

360° España, established in 2005, is operating out of Costa del Sol. The operations started in 2005 where the real estate market was in focus. After a good start and some time expanding the business the economic downfall knocked on the door and a head wind started to blow so 360° España was parked in the port and the founders sailed on to new prosperous waters.

But in 2010, Magnus and Mike, saw an opportunity to bring “the sleeping beauty” back in business. You’ll have our full support and we wish you a bon voyage.

Follow 360° España here »

Supporting know-how and production to fivecontinentgroup

360° Factory has been contacted and asked to support fivecontinentgroup with know-how and production when it comes to photography, 360° photography and production of 360° Virtual Tours. We have come to an agreement and we look forward to get started. Our batteries are fully charged!!

Domle Mansion Sweden will get a new picture bank

During 2010 we’re going to provide Dömle Mansion with a picture bank + 360 Virtual Tours. We have already produced close to a hundred images and will continue adding more and more pictures. We are waiting for the summer to arrive.

Check out this YouTube video to get a taste of this wonderful place!

Are you on Facebook? Then why not hook up with Dömle Herrgård or follow Flickr and get inspired from the pictures from this place. :-)

We are pleased to welcome Jeff Scott to the 360 Factory team. He will focus on the UK market. Please visit: 360factory.co.uk.

From underwater filming to 360° photography. Why not? Jeff got started part-time in 2010 with 360° Photography aiming at the London area.

Where he will take this opportunity no one knows. We will surely support the best we can and we will look forward to receive work from him.

By the way, after living abroad for many, many years, Jeff moved back to the UK and to make a long story short… one day he appeared on BBC One’s Breakfast show.
